Cómo instalar Ruby 2.0.0 en CentOS y RHEL 6 usando RVM

Rubí es un lenguaje de programación dinámico y orientado a objetos. Usamos RVM, que significa Ruby Version Manager, que facilita la instalación de Ruby en la plataforma Linux. RVM también es útil para administrar múltiples versiones de Ruby sin conflictos, y podemos cambiar el sistema a cualquier versión de Ruby usando un solo comando.

Paso 1:Instale los paquetes necesarios

En primer lugar, debemos instalar todos los paquetes necesarios para la instalación de Ruby en nuestro sistema con el siguiente comando.

# yum install gcc-c++ patch readline readline-devel zlib zlib-devel
# yum install libyaml-devel libffi-devel openssl-devel make
# yum install bzip2 autoconf automake libtool bison iconv-devel

Paso 2:Instalar RVM (Administrador de versiones de Ruby)

Instale la última versión estable de RVM en su sistema usando el siguiente comando. Este comando descargará automáticamente todos los archivos requeridos y los instalará en su sistema.

# curl -L get.rvm.io | bash -s stable

Ahora configure el entorno del sistema antes de instalar Ruby. Use el siguiente comando para configurar el entorno rvm.

# source /etc/profile.d/rvm.sh

Paso 3:Instalar Rubí

Después de completar la configuración del entorno RVM, instalemos el lenguaje Ruby usando el siguiente comando.

# rvm install 2.0.0

Paso 4:Configurar la versión predeterminada de Ruby

Use el comando rvm para configurar la versión predeterminada de Ruby para que la usen las aplicaciones.

# rvm use 2.0.0 --default

Using /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-2.0.0-p451

Con el siguiente comando, puede comprobar que se utiliza la versión actual de Ruby.

# ruby --version

ruby 2.0.0p451 (2014-02-24 revision 45167) [i686-linux]
