Mientras ejecuto el comando de eliminación automática o actualización o incluso para cualquier comando de instalación, recibo el siguiente error.
Mi sistema es Ubuntu 15.04 actualizado desde 14.04 y el kernel de Linux es 4.00 actualizado desde 3.19. Y he instalado python 3.4.3 y puedo usar python3 por python comando.
Por favor ayúdenme ya que está completamente en mal estado. AIT

ACTUALIZAR
Como se sugirió, probé los tres pasos
1. El primer paso genera el mismo error que publiqué para sudo apt-get autoremove
2. Para la segunda instalación alternativa desde .deb está generando el siguiente error

compressed fileExtraí y ejecuté el comando nuevamente. Parece que el primer error es un módulo faltante:
ImportError: No module named 'ConfigParser'
Intente instalar python-configparser con:
sudo apt-get install python-configparser
Si no funciona con apt-get intenta descargar el paquete deb e instalarlo manualmente con:
sudo dpkg -i python-configparser_3.3.0r2-2_all.deb
Como tercera opción (gracias @Byte Commander), puede instalar configparser desde la fuente:

descarga y extrae la versión disponible en vivid de pypi:configparser-3.3.0r2.tar.gz

Instalar con el siguiente comando:
cd configparser-3.3.0r2 && sudo python setup.py install
Luego intente nuevamente instalar un paquete con apt-get :
sudo apt-get install python-launchpadlib
