Instalé Debian 9 stretch (escritorio GNOME) de 64 bits en mi PC. Mi adaptador inalámbrico USB (TP-LINK TL-WN722N) fue detectado automáticamente después de instalar el firmware de atheros:
apt-get install firmware-atheros
Pero no puedo conectarme a ningún marco inalámbrico, ya sea que estén protegidos con contraseña o sin protección.
Conecté mi USB. Se detectó, se envió la autenticación, se autenticó, pero se canceló la autenticación de inmediato. Deshabilitar IPV6 no resolvió mi problema..

No tengo idea de por qué sucedió esto, ni por qué se abortó varias veces en un solo intento.

De alguna manera, mi firmware tuvo problemas con el nombre de interfaz largo. Así que ejecuté este comando para evitarlo:
ln -s /dev/null /etc/systemd/network/99-default.link
y funcionó.
